Innovation is understood to broadly include invention of a new idea, putting into practice and exploiting it in a manner that leads to value addition or quality improvement. Innovation also means creation of new and efficient technology and employing out-of-the-box thinking to generate quality values and to bring about significant changes in society. All endeavours constantly crave innovation as a necessity and inability to innovate, leads to their decline and finally extinction. In the current scenario, it becomes mandatory to expose students at an early age to the concept of innovation and ignite their young minds to think and act accordingly.
Acharya Narendra Dev College (University of Delhi) is taking the lead by way of providing a platform to young innovators for brain-storming and free exchange of ideas in a two-day Innovation Conclave scheduled from 25 – 26 October 2016 in the college premises. The conclave envisages helping students establish a connection between classroom teaching and worldly knowledge in frontier areas of science. Popular talks by eminent speakers from all branches of Science and Mathematics are also part of the conclave to bring everyone up-to-date with the latest in cutting-edge areas of science.
Students and faculty mentors are encouraged to present their results from innovation projects and
interdisciplinary undergraduate research, in extended interactive poster sessions during theconclave. Abstracts are invited from undergraduate students from Sciences and Mathematics for poster presentation in broad topic areas of Physical Sciences (Physics, Electronics, Chemistry,
Mathematics) and Life Sciences (Botany, Zoology, Biomedical Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology). Abstracts should be limited to a maximum of 250 words, in Times New Roman format, 12 point font (1.5 line spacing). Title (16 pt), author names (14 pt), and affiliation should be in separate lines and centered. Presenting author's name should be underlined and corresponding author’s e-mail mentioned. Abstract should be sent as attachment in Word format by e-mail to: firstname.lastname@example.org
