| General Rules |
| Identity card |
|
Every student is issued an identity card immediately after admission, which he/she is expected to carry to college at all times. Entry to the college shall in no circumstances be allowed without the identity card. Loss of identity card should be intimated to the college immediately with a copy of FIR (first information report) lodged with the police. A duplicate identity card shall then be issued for a fee of Rs.50/- and payment of a fine of Rs.100/-. |
| Prohibition and Punishment for Ragging |
|
Students of the college are expected to behave responsibly, both inside and outside the college. Ragging in any form, anywhere, is strictly prohibited and is punishable under Ordinance XV B and XV C of the University, besides an FIR being lodged against them. |
| College Complaints Committee |
|
As per ordinance XV-D of the University of Delhi based on the policy against the sexual harassment a Complaints Committee has been set up to maintain and create an academic and work environment free of sexual harassment for students, teaching and non teaching staff of University of Delhi. Any complaints of sexual harassment will be addressed by this Committee. |
| Notice Boards |

Students should read the Notice Boards regularly for information regarding schedule of classes, examinations, attendance, holidays, activities, fellowships, scholarships and other information to students. Ignorance of any notice will not be accepted as a plea or excuse for delay in any matter.
Residential Address: Students should inform the office immediately, in writing under signature of the parent/guardian, in case of change in residential address and phone numbers. The college will not be responsible for any papers that reach the wrong address in case of non-intimation.

| Discipline |

It is expected that the students shall not indulge in boisterous behaviour in the college. |

Smoking and consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited in the college premises. |

The students are required to switch-off their mobile phones in classrooms and laboratories. |
| 4 |
Strict action will be taken against students causing any damage to college property or littering college lawns and premises. |

Students cars are strictly not allowed within the college premises. |
| Attendance Requirements |
All classes will commence from 16th July 2009.
The rules for minimum attendance requirements are as follows: |

In case of science subjects, each student is required to attend at least 2/3 of total lectures delivered and 75% of total practical sessions held during the entire academic year. |

In case of Honours subjects, the requisite attendance of 2/3 of total lectures delivered shall be required in the main subjects as well as in each of the Subsidiary / Qualifying subjects taken separately |

In case of B. Sc Programme, 2/3 of lectures shall be required in each of the three science subjects as well as in each of the Qualifying subjects. |

Attendance records will be put-up on the notice boards after each term. NO STUDENT will be issued the University admission tickets in case he/she is short of attendance. |
The College is very strict about attendance. The students are advised to attend classes regularly if they do not want to be denied Admission Ticket (Roll number) for the final examinations. In 2008 we had to deny 41 students permission to appear in the Annual examinations due to shortage of attendance. |
| Internal Assessment |

25% of the maximum marks in each paper (excluding subsidiary and qualifying papers) are assigned for the internal assessment and the remaining 75% marks for the annual/semester university examination. Internal Assessment marks are shown separately in the mark-sheet issued by the University and these marks are added to the annual/semester examinations marks for determining the division of the student. |
The internal assessment in each paper comprises three components: |

House Examination: weightage 10% |
House examinations are held in the month of January immediately after the winter break. It is compulsory for all students to appear and qualify in these examinations. The duration and the maximum marks of each paper in the house examination shall be the same as in the University Examination. |

Written assignment/tutorials /project reports /term papers/seminars: weightage 10% |
Each student is required to submit at least one assignment/tutorial per paper in each term subject to a minimum of twelve written assignments per year for all the papers taken together. A student is also required to prepare /present one project /term paper in a given academic year for each paper. |

Attendance: Weightage 5 % |
The credit for regularity in each paper, based on attendance in lectures and tutorials, shall be as follows: |

More than 67% but less than 70% - 1 mark |

70% or more but less than 75% - 2 marks |
| |
75% or more but less than 80% - 3 marks |
| |
80% or more but less than 85% - 4 marks |

85% and above - 5 marks |
Please note that as per the guidelines of the University of Delhi all Medical certificates will be excluded while calculating credit towards marks in the internal assessment scheme even though such certificates shall continue to be taken into account for the purpose of calculating eligibility to appear for examinations[Ordinance VII.2.(9)(a)(ii)]. The internal assessment scheme of students pursuing self-financed courses such as Biomedical Sciences and Computer Sciences follow a different pattern, the details of which are given in the subject profile. |
