Capability Enhancement

The Department prioritizes inviting distinguished personalities and subject matter experts to engage in interactive sessions with students, which have a profound impact on their educational journey. Additionally, the Department proactively organizes numerous seminars, workshops, and training programs covering a wide range of themes, including Forensic Science, Cancer Biology, Antimicrobial Drug Resistance, Next Generation Sequencing, Flow Cytometry, and qPCR. These events are conducted under various student enrichment schemes such as departmental functions and the DBT Star College Scheme.

To enhance the learning experience, educational excursions are arranged on an annual basis. These excursions offer students the opportunity to visit modern laboratories equipped with advanced technology and witness the biodiversity of the country. Equally important, these excursions foster a sense of camaraderie among peers and provide an enriching experience of bonding with teachers.

The Department places significant emphasis on training students in emerging research areas, the art of science communication, and fostering a sense of environmental awareness and social responsibility. This is achieved through a variety of workshops, training sessions, and outreach programs conducted within the college and in collaboration with other institutes.
